To Be or To Do
The value of an individual is measured by existence not performance.
There are things that I want to do because they increase my ability to enjoy existing.
There are things that I do in order to continue existing.
But if I begin to base the value of my existence on what I accomplish toward these ends, their accomplishment becomes meaningless and my value becomes an illusive hope that someday I will possess the validation of my existence.
